Rules Questions for Readying Guards! | tcgmode

Quick question that I'm just a tad unsure on, when I declare casting Guards! do I have to declare whether or not I am paying the recycle cost to ready the soldier or is this an action I take after the spell has resolved since it's not "As an additional cost".
